The Enigma of Mr. X
Emily's brother is missing, she's succumbing to various addictions, and can't seem to escape her broken home. The nightmares started about a month ago. Maybe today is the day she can turn it all around? The Enigma of Mr. X is a fully voiced character driven side-scrolling psychological horror adventure involving nightmares, missing persons, and dysfunctional relationships, featuring an immersive soundtrack, mostly meaningless choices, existential dread, a ridiculous breakfast order, raw sweet corn, a drunk dad, run-on sentences, and a sweet lil kitty cat.
Content Warning: This game contains themes of depression, drug usage, and mental abuse. Includes adult language, disturbing audio and visuals, and representations of violence.

I see some Twin Peaks influence here, and there's a dose of Max Payne in terms of the dark enchantment. The experience is macabre and is facilitated by good dialogs. Good work!
Glad you caught those vibes, as both of those always impact my stories :] Max Payne was actually my main reference point for Billings, the sarcastic matter-of-factness haha thanks for playing and your kind words!
Amazing game. Some of the best dialog on itchio.
Thank you! When I saw the name 'depressedhuman' I was hoping this game tickled your fancy :)
